logging a period.

When your period is due, the today screen asks "started?". Or swipe up for the calendar, tap the day it started, then "period started this day". Tap a later day for "period ended this day".

how predictions work.

emo uses your last cycles (up to six) once you've logged two, and the lengths you set until then. Ovulation is estimated at 14 days before your next period, and the fertile window as the five days before it and the day after. These are estimates only, not birth control or medical advice.

emo's heads up.

After three cycles of mood logs, emo notices patterns ("psst. low days start tomorrow."). Turn it off in settings, emo, heads up from emo.

backup and your recovery code.

Encrypted backup is optional. When you turn it on, you get a recovery code. On a new phone, sign in the same way and enter the code to bring your logs back. We can't see or reset the code: keep it somewhere safe (a password manager is ideal). You can see it again in settings, account, recovery code.

subscription.

• Cancel or change payment: in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions (settings, account, subscription, manage).
• New phone: tap restore on the plans screen, with the same Apple ID or Google account.
• Refunds: handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play (request a refund).
